L'édition 2023 of the OHADA Best Written Prize is called MODI KOKO PRIZE, in recognition of the five (5) years spent by Professor Henri Désiré MODI KOKO BEBEY as president of the Scientific Committee of the competition. Elle lui est par conséquent une gratitude et un accueil au grade des honoraires de l'équipe scientifique de ce projet.
Previously called “OHADA Best Article Prize” (PMA – OHADA) until the third edition, the introduction of the Court Decision Commentary exercise encouraged a change in the name of the competition to “ OHADA Best Written Prize » (PME-OHADA).
This prize was an international competition initiated in 2018 with the support of UNIDA and Ohada.com. Through the editions, other partners supported the competition.
Initially intended for national researchers, the competition became international from the first edition, given the growing interest of nationals of several OHADA member and non-member states.
Building on the experience acquired and its growing success over the years ; the involvement of jurists from all over the world and requests for complex issues related to the crisis of constitutionalism, climate challenges and other environmental issues, the future of international law and its principles in the light of contemporary crises, the International Law Society has decided in accordance with its desire to act effectively in legal commerce from a multidisciplinary perspective, to rename the competition to “ Prize for Best Legal Writing » (PEEJ). The competition will take place according to the timetable below :
20 November 2023 : Launch of the 6e editing
Of 20 November to 10 December 2023 : Registration with the organizing committee ;
Of 10 December to 10 FEBRUARY 2024 : Sending writings to the organizing committee
Of 10 February to 20 FEBRUARY 2024 : Control, anonymization and forwarding of writings to the scientific committee and the jury ;
Of 20 February to 20 mars 2024 : Phase des corrections
Of 20 March to 03 avril 2024 : Jury deliberation
The 20 avril 2024 : Announcement of results.
The timetable indicated above is subject to modification by the organizing committee according to the needs of the competition.. However, the Committee will do everything possible to avoid such modifications..
- Master level students 2
- Doctoral students
- Teachers or researchers holding a doctoral degree dating back no more than 3 ans
- Professionals holding a Master’s degree in law with a maximum experience of 5 ans
- Professionals holding a Doctorate in Law degree with a maximum experience of 3 ans
- Student lawyers with a maximum experience of 5 ans
Registration for the competition is made with the Organizing Committee by completing the electronic registration form accessible via the following link : Registration Form
The following supporting documents must be attached to the electronic form, in the sections provided for this purpose :
- For students/doctoral students/doctors : A proof establishing, According to the case, that the candidate is regularly registered in an establishment/school/training center for the master’s degree 2 or doctoral studies, proof of obtaining the Master's degree 2 or proof of obtaining a doctorate one year at most before the launch date of the competition.
- For professionals, supporting documents of their professional experience accepted within the limits of 5 years refers to a CV to which a work certificate is attached, if previous employment and/or any supporting document of the date of employment if first or new employment. Proof of payment of registration fees, including the code of the transaction carried out.
The registration fee for the Competition is 20 euros regardless of the composition of the team (individual or team application).
