The teacher Henri Désiré Modi Grandfather Baby and the current secretary general of the University of Douala. He was born on 15 July 1961 in Douala. Married and father of 3 children. He is also an associate professor at French law faculties. (private law and criminal sciences / specialty in business law).

He has marked his academic skills through teaching and research in business law and economic law., banking and financial law and civil law ; also by university administration and research project management ; the setting up and coordination of numerous research and professional master's programs in the universities of Douala and Dschang and the supervision of numerous doctoral theses.

Henri Désiré MODI GRANDPA BEBEY has been :

• president of the Cameroonian group of the Henri Capitant association
• coordinator for Africa of the inter diploma- university (DIU) Lawyer OHADA Paris 2-Paris 13
• member of the establishment board of ERSUMA –OHADA of 2011 has 2014
• arbitrator referenced to the CCJA-OHADA in 2015
• member of the standing committee of the GICAM arbitration center (Inter-employer group of Cameroon)
• member of the scientific council of the Network of African Science and Technology Universities (EQUIP)
• also Expert to the critical rereading committee of the preliminary draft of the Cameroonian civil code (2012 has 2014).

His academic titles are numerous. He is a member of the faculties of law, private law and criminal sciences. / specialty in business law. The teacher is :

• holder of a doctorate in private law under the theme “The Private Investment Regime in Cameroon”, University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne in May 1989.
• holder of a DEA in public finance and taxation from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, diploma obtained in 1988.
• obtained a DESS (Specialized Graduate Studies) in banking and financial law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in 1987
• a DEA in business law and economic law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in 1985
• He also has a master's degree in business law and obtained from the University of Yaoundé in 1984 and his first university degree
• a degree in private law from the University of Yaoundé in 1983
• All this, after obtaining his A4 Philosophy-Letters baccalaureate in 1980.

In 2012 as dean of the faculties of legal and political sciences (FSJP) from the University of Dschang until 2021. Before that, he was director of academic affairs and cooperation at the University of Douala de 2005 in 2012, first being vice-dean in charge of programming and monitoring activities in the faculties of legal and political sciences in the same university of 1999 has 2003 ; post following that of head of department at the FSJP of the University of Douala, of 1999 has 2012.
