
The International Publishing Organizing Committee 2024 of the Best Writing Prize in the Intellectual Property category informs the community of researchers and scientific contributors to intellectual property law of the official launch of the first edition of the Best Writing Prize – Intellectual Property.
The “Best Writing Award – Intellectual Property” (hereinafter “SME – PI”) aims to encourage researchers to participate in thinking, to the systematization and popularization of intellectual property law, with the support of UNIDA and other partners. To this end, the International Organizing Committee invites researchers to reflect, of your choice, on one of the themes that will be submitted to them as part of this competition, anything that will contribute to satisfying the ambition mentioned above.
The PME – PI is open to all researchers, whatever their nationality, following the conditions provided for in the general regulations and the specific regulations of the competition.
ORGANIZATIONAL TERMS
Scientific Committee and Jury :
A Scientific Committee and a Jury are formed for each edition to determine the themes and decisions to comment on., written expertise, determining the winners of the competition and their ranking in order of merit.

THEMES :
On behalf of the edition 2024 Best Writing Prize – Intellectual Property, candidates will have the choice to focus their thoughts on one of the following themes :
- The accumulation of intellectual property rights on intellectual creations;
- Artificial intelligence and the status of creator;
- Counterfeiting and unfair competition in the OAPI-OHADA system;
- SMEs (small and medium businesses) and intellectual property.
On behalf of the edition 2024 you PME – PI, the decision comment category will not be subject to submission.
It is nevertheless recommended to candidates in the Best Article category, to fuel their thoughts, to draw inspiration from the recent jurisprudential study published by WIPO and available online: Joseph FOMETEU and Max Lambert LIFE IS GOOD (Dir.), WIPO collection of the most decisive judgments in intellectual property matters. IMPORTANT DATES :
The competition will take place according to the timetable below :
1is avril 2024: Launch of the 1era editing;
Of 1is April to 24 avril 2024 : Registrations with the Organizing Committee;
Of 25 April to 25 May 2024 : Sending writings to the organizing committee;
Of 26 they still have 03 June 2024 : Control, anonymization and forwarding of writings to the Scientific Committee and the Jury ;
Of 3 June to 24 June 2024 : Phase des corrections ;
Of 25 June to 02 July 2024 : Jury deliberation ;
The 10 July 2024 : Announcement of results.
The timetable indicated above is subject to modification by the Organizing Committee according to the needs of the competition.. However, the Committee will make every effort to avoid such modifications.
PRIZES AND REWARDS :
- Publication of the writing in one of the partner journals, under the publication conditions specific to each journal;
- An internship of at least one month in one of our partner firms;
- A special price;
- A diploma of honor.
Other rewards may be awarded to the winners depending on the contributions of partners, Presidents and honorary members, friends of the International Law Society as well as members of the intellectual property law community.
The Committee judges the appropriateness of rewarding the other best writings according to the classification made by the jury and provided that the contributions of the partners allow it.. Apart from the winners, all candidates will be entitled to certificates of participation.
